Mike Talley, P.E., CFM

Mike Talley is the owner and President of Flint River Consulting, LLC and has 26 years of engineering experience. A 1998 Civil Engineering graduate from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Mr. Talley has worked on a wide variety of projects with the following companies and municipalities:

• Norfolk Southern Railway (1998-2001)

• Stevenson & Palmer Engineering (2001-2004) 

• City of Albany (2004-2007)

• H&H Resources (2007-2016)

• Waterhouse Engineering (2016-2019)

• Teague Nall and Perkins (2019-2020)

His experience has included railway engineering, municipal engineering, water systems, wastewater, storm water pump stations, sanitary sewer pump stations, roadway drainage, bridge hydraulics, and large scale drainage studies. 

​

Since 2007, Mr. Talley has specialized in roadway drainage, bridge hydraulics, and floodplain mapping and management. Typical contracts include: bridge hydraulic evaluation, culvert design, roadway drainage, floodplain management, NFIP compliance, FEMA flood studies, and scour evaluations.

​

Bridge projects include bridge hydraulic and scour evaluation for bridge replacements for both Georgia Department of Transportation and Texas Department of Transportation.

 

Mr. Talley has served local municipalities for the last 20 years. He has a unique understanding of the needs of local governments and works to find creative and affordable drainage solutions. His work includes assisting local governments with NFIP/FEMA compliance, MS4 stormwater compliance, and working with local public works officials to identify solutions to chronic drainage issues.

 

He is familiar with the following software used for hydraulic & hydrological analysis:  HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, GIS, and XP-STORM.

Mr. Talley is a licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia (No. 028446) and in Texas (No. 103238), a Certified Floodplain Manager (08-023247), and is a member of the Association of State Floodplain Managers
